On 12/05/2016 I received a telephone call from U.S. Tech Solutions, the person told me my computer was infected with a virus and at high risk of crash dump. After trying to have a conversation with someone that had a thick accent from India, I was given to another person with heavy accent and his name given was Daniel Quinn. This Daniel Quinn was supposed to be one of the Techs and talked at length about this virus in my system eventually wearing me down and I consented to obtain their service. I was charged $1200 for them to go into my computer (with remote access) to analyze the system, clean up all files and apps and make the system like new and run faster. After taking my credit card payment, I was told I would have to stay off the system for 4 to 6 hours while they performed the analysis of my system. After the 6 hours, a "tech" who said his name was James phoned and said the work was complete. James told me that my payment included tech support for life and when or if a problem occurred to just contact them at the phone number given and put in a service request. I have not heard from these people since. I have no email address or physical address by which to try to contact them for a refund of my money since I do not believe now that they are legit. I doubt I could recover my money, but I figured the least I can do is to warn other people about them. After researching online for information on their area code (855), I learned this is a toll free code and non-geographical, meaning unlike our phone area codes which is according to where we live, their area code has no specific location. It was also noted that there are several of these types of area codes that are used notoriously by scammers (probably because then you can't find them, by number or location).
