Type of a scam Government Agency Imposter
"Once the review is complete, your application will be submitted to the IRS and a copy of the EIN will be provided to you via E-mail. This will be your official EIN/Tax ID."
That's when it became apparent to me that I had been deceived by the look and feel of the website. I immediately did a Google search for "Is USA Tax ID legit" and saw numerous complaints that mirrored my experience. Subsequently, I called the support number listed in the email, but got voicemail stating it was outside of their business hours (it was about 9:30ish PM Eastern time). I then emailed the support email address provided in the email and requested my order be cancelled and the $249 fee be refunded. The next morning I received an email indicating that the order had been cancelled and a refund processed.
"Your order has been successfully canceled and refunded. The refund time will depend on your card or issuing bank. If you have not received your refund within 7-10 business days, please consult your card or bank provider for a more specific timeline."
Thank goodness I acted quickly with the request to cancel/refund. I will impatiently await for my refund to be processed.
Admittedly, I should have been more diligent. However, I have no doubt that the look and feel of the website and the "top of the page" search results are purposefully intended to deceive those looking to obtain a federal EIN.
