After scammer texted me with a Best Buy fraud alert, he call my cell number and acted like a USAA Member service personnel from thee fraud dept. Asked to verify credit card fraud the he just texted. Then he sent text verification code to validate to convince me to it legit, but not. I called USAA directly the following day & they said he was axscammer. About 8 total charges were attempted and a new bank account attempted to be opened, but declined. He even tried to transfer $2500 cash into a bank in Texas. Thanks to USAA, they place a 72 hour lock on my account & gave me a new cc number. Lesson learned, always call the fraud prevention of your card before giving any info to the crooks. Even though the caller id states the organization in reference.
