Received text allegedly from USAA Fraud Prevention listing limited information from 4 recent credit card transactions and asking me to confirm with them if these were valid transactions. Then received a phone call from 800-272-9440 also saying they were from USAA Fraud Prevention and asking me to call back right away to verify questionable credit card transactions.

I received 4 separate texts. The first one was addressed to Patricia. I called the number on the text and they kept talking but said it was a mistake. I contacted Lifelock and requested they put a note on my account since they text my phone number.
I called USAA back on their phone number I found online and was able to talk to Caroline. She submitted a fraud report to look into the incident. After talking with her I thought someone had mistyped a number and that is why I received the text.
However, three hours later (4:05pm) I received two more texts the same as before but this time they called me Betty. I contacted USAA and the person did not forward me to the fraud department so I contacted Lifelock again to report the second text.
The attached picture is the number and link I think is suspicious. I did not open the link or call the new number.
I do not have a USAA account. I hope this prevents others from this scam

On Sunday October 26, 2020 someone named Jason called our home phone stating that he was calling from USAA to check if we had made a $600. 00 purchase from Amazon upon hearing that we hadn't he proceeded to assure us that he was putting the money back and make it so that that kind of stuff never happened again. He even went on to tell me of a transfer I had made the night before for $1,500.00. I acknowledged that I had made that transaction.
He had my husband give him his password after he read us our account numbers, we were on the line with him for over 2 hours. He eventually hung up on my husband, I then checked the accounts and all that was left was $52.27.The $1,500.00 never got to the intended recipient as my account w[censored]d clean. We have been in contact with the bank several times they have given us no case number or anything except to tell us that the matter is been investigated. I am asking for help in my pursuit to get my money back.

This number called claiming to be USAA fraud. My phone even listed the call as USAA when it showed up on my caller ID. They stated that my card was used in another state, and that they were going send me new cards. The scammer knew my name, phone number, address, and bank. They claimed the new card would cost $24.99, but would waive the fee (that isn't even the correct cost for an expedited new card with USAA). They then stated that my login has been compromised and it was being used in another state. They stated that they needed my user name and password in order to reset my system. I hung up the phone and then called USAA directly to verify. The agent told me that it was obvious fraud and that they would never ask for a username or password over the phone, especially if they called me. The agent was very helpful and assisted me with resetting my passwords just in case it was compromised. The agent told me that fraud calls have skyrocketed due to COVID and so many people being out of work. He said that they are able to make their calls appear as if they are coming from anywhere, even legitimate corporate phone lines. After the initial phone call from the scammer, I received about 3 more calls from numbers that were flagged by my phone company as SPAM. I can only assume that they were from the same people trying to get my bank account information. The other numbers that were flagged as SPAM were: (843)266-1557 and (843)867-3989.

They called both my boyfriend and I saying our warranties on our vehicles would expire. They are both new vehicles with low miles and my boyfriend’s name and contact information are on my title. They didn’t know my name or the make and model of my vehicle. We were called from multiple numbers. I didn’t want to say the “ye*” word. The number I gave you picked up when I said “operator”. He was unable to pronounce several words correctly. I called back and said I would call the police. It was a different voice who claimed to be from USAA. I know he wasn’t. I already called USAA to notify them of the scam, as they are a good company.

I received a counterfeit email from USAA. The Email header said, "ACTION REQUIRED IMMEDIATELY; Your USAA Profile Will Be TERMINATED." I clicked on the email link, and it took me to a suspicious webpage. I am unsure of the consequences of clicking the link as of yet. I called USAA, and the representative told me to spam the email. I was also told that, if fraudulent behavior occurs on my account, they will always call first.
