When installing MS Office I inadvertently connected to a bogus MS Office Tech support company. They have Indian accents but use American sounding names. I allowed them access to my computer and they made it look like I had both virus and identity theft problems. There were three $500 charges. It came to a head when they called and told me their software wasn’t working and wanted access to my bank account to wire a refund to my account. I called my bank and they advised it was a scam and that a reputable company would refund the credit card. When I called and told them what the bank said they hung up on me. The company where I bought MS office also advised it was a scam.
