Wanted to renew my passport and thought I was in a legitimate processing website, Uspassportandvisa.org. I filled out requested personal information and didn’t realize it was a scam until I received a form and information on how to submit it through my email. I am extremely concerned about identity theft. I have since renewed my passport through legitimate government website.

Filled out the application on uspassportandvisa.org where it never explicitly stated what the intended fees were for, unlike their expedited process. Once the application was purchased for $110, that is when the notification of the fees to the government would need to be sent. This ambiguous wording along with the lack of transparency for the "least" expensive option causes confusion and inaccurate advertisement.

A site with small print, but presenting as an official government site. I gave my social security number, and i'm deeply concerned.

They site claims to expedite to be a portal of renewal for a passport, but in fact they simply fill out a pdf on my behalf and skim my personal information.

Went online to renew my passport, first one that comes up, being .org I was not thinking correctly and clicked on it, gave them all my personal info, son, DOB, address, phone number, passport number. I am most afraid of the identity theft. They would easily confuse people with being first position on the search, they also "claim" to make your passport and visa experience easier, but you had to print out a pdf of the completed application, you then have to sign, get your photo done elsewhere and mail it in. The official .gov file you can sign, submit a photo etc right on-line. This company is very misleading and I typically don't get caught up in a site like this so I really feel for many others. This business is misleading the public and charge $64.88 for having your information put on a U.S. Passport Application, the cost for the service is exorbitant. Or is it a big data mining scam??

This website poses as an official government organization used to apply to passport. They ask for sensitive information and charge a fee. They disguise it as if you're applying for a passport, but I reality you're paying them to fill out form, but they are not straight forward about it. They do state in fine print that they are not affiliated with the US government, but they try very hard to hide it. It is very deceitful and unsettling that not they have my information all because of a mistake. They have acknowledged that they will issue me a refund and remove my information from their website, but until I see proof I will have this posted.

The site asks for a bunch of personal information such as DOBs, SSNs, etc. It appears legitimate until you get ready to pay. There's no review of if the information is accurate, nor does it ask for photographs or links to where download it which is what makes it more suspicious.

I googled how to renew my passport online and clicked on the website US Passport and Visa.Org. I did not catch that it wasn’t a government website until I completed the application fully and tried to process payment. Fortunately my payment would not got through. That prompted me to read more thoroughly on the site and discovered it wasn’t the US government passport renewal site. I had already supplied my personal information- all of the same information that is required for a US passport- name, address, social security number, upcoming travel dates planned, existing passport number, etc. I then researched the website and discovered it was a scam site.

They have a website set up like a passport application then you put in all your private info and when you pay them (the same cost as a passport plus insurance/rush fees) they tell you they are just a form prep service and they do not process passports.

This site shows up as a service for passport services. It does not schedule the passport appointment, nor does it submit the passport request. It transposes information submitted to a passport application form and sends you a form by email. The site is branded to look like a government entity in order to fool people. There is small text saying it's not a government agency, but frankly this should be illegal. They charge people a lot of money to email you a form the Post office provides for free and assists you in completing. One post office I visited said the application they provided could not be submitted, therefore, their service is a fraud.

The goal was to leverage the site to initiate the Passport application process for the first time. The site proved to be misleading and in the end was not affiliated with any site and instead gathered my personal information and required a make a payment to complete the application without me realizing it was only completing the initial data entry on my behalf and would print the form I could have completed for free. This was being done with their goal to have access to my personal and financial info.

There has been no way to contact customer service to resolve there issue. You submit information and they do nothing other than email what you have submitted and maintain a copy of your social security, date of birth, address and bank information for their own personal records - they now have all of my bank and sensitive information and my spouses info.

While trying to renew my passport, I quickly did a Google search and without thinking selected the first option (top sponsored website in the results) and proceeded to enter all my personal identifiable information (PII) to renew my passport.

Post submitting payment and printing the form, I noticed on the last page that I would need to submit a separate payment via check for the renewal of my passport and that the amount just paid was ONLY for using the fillable form and shipping label. I promptly followed up via their contact page and via email requesting a refund and requested their transparency on their website versus unethically misleading their site visitors. I also requested that they permanently delete all the data entered and now waiting to see if they will in fact refund the amount and really hoping my PII doesn’t end elsewhere. Though measures have been taken to monitor identity theft and credit.

Attempted to renew US passport, instead used this site to collect my PII and money to pre fill a form. Was the first link on the google search and appeared to be a government site. There is no contact info to ask them to delete my data, just an automated email that doesn’t work for replies.

They now have my personal information and credit card details and I am concerned to protect my personal information from theft.

I was trying to reapply for my passport. I went into this website and it got a ton of my personal information and it was not until I was asked for money that I realized it was fake. It looks like this website has been doing this for years. Why is ScamPulse.com not shutting it down??!! It is clearly misleading and dangerous. Now Ive had to freeze all my credit accounts and paid for an identify theft company. I wish ScamPulse.com would help the average consumer more by removing these sites.

I filled out an application to renew my US Passport with all of my information, was charged $67.88, and emailed forms to submit to mail in my passport renewal. It is my understanding now that those forms are not the authentic forms to be used and accepted.

This website models itself after government websites used to complete a passport application. It is a sponsored site on google. I had started my application on the legitimate government site, went to gather necessary materials, and the application had timed-out by the time I can back. When attempting to pull up the application again, I accidentally clicked on the deceptive link (uspassportandvisa.org) and started to fill out information. The website looked similar and I did not notice the difference at first, but became confused why the price at the end was different ($67 rather than $130 for an actual passport). I did not end up being charged but I am concerned about having entered sensitive information into this site. After searching for information about this site, I found out that many people did pay the fee for a misleading service that they do not have the authority to provide.
