USPS Imposter Reports & Reviews (654)

The text message was about having a package redelivered and address verification which then had a hyperlink to the USPS page. After entering address verification, it then takes you to another page that asks for a fee of $1 for package redelivery and credit card/security number information. The text gave a USPS tracking no. I bailed at that point.

The website was very believable. I knew I should have viewed this site from my laptop because then I could have done more research on this site.

I received it in my email

It read...This is United States Postal Service Delivery Company.. The management of this company wishes to inform you that they had received a parcel containing an ATM master card valued at $5,000,000 with some vital documents attached to it for safety delivery to my home address in your country, within the next 48 hours. Then it said, 'I am directed to inform you that your payment verifications and confirmations are OK.

They want my full name, parcel owner address, telephone number, sex and occupation. Also, a scanned copy of my Drivers License or International Passport. They will register this package and send me the tracking numbers. Before they proceed with this I need to reconfirm the required information . I am to reply by email to ([email protected]).

It was signed Mr. Jerry Allen with 2 email addresses. .

"Delayed delivery reminder, your delivery address is wrong. Temporarily undeliverable. https://uspreport.com/JSYf"

This is the text I received. The real USPS does not send texts messages with links asking for personal information.

a USPS imposter texted me saying they tried to deliver a package but it wouldn’t fit in the mailbox. I have to send them

$3.30 by credit card for them to redeliver the package. And they also asked for my credit card information for payment. I did not fall for it.

I got a text from 972-385-3155, claiming to be USPS and telling me I had to click the provided link (https://mrshakesorvetes.com.br/PackageUSPS/usps/) to pay a $1.99 fee for my package to be delivered. They even included a fake tracking number, like I wasn't going to check that with USPS...

Further, the phone number is out of service and you need a password and username to get into the provided website. Obviously a scam to me, but some may not realize it.

Claim I had a package that couldn't be delivered without more info and a small fee they ask to resend it.

Impersonating the USPS and attempting to collect payment for an item, that I did not purchase or had prior knowledge of.

I received a text message from USPS saying I missed a certified delivery. I click the link in the text message and it took me to a page to enter personal and banking information to pay a $3.30 fee. I thought this was regarding my USPS at home covid tests. It also included a tracking number. I went to my local post office and they told me it was a scam.

I received a "United States Postal Service survey." I heard on NPR today that this is a scam. So I did not respond. But I wanted to report it.

This is a site that is set up to mimic USPS, I pasted their email below. They asked me to put in my address because they shipped something to me that was incorrect. When I put it in they asked for $3 and then to confirm a text sent to me. Luckily I caught on in time and froze my credit card. I realized it was fake because the tracking number was not working and when I clicked support it took me to a Japanese hotels website.

"Notification Regarding Your USPS Package Delivery

Hi Customer,

This alert was generated to notify you that your package which arrived on Wednesday , 13 October 2021 , will be sent back to the sender .

Your shipment address contains an error .

WEIGHT : 1.68 KG

Don’t worry, USPS allows you to redeliver your package to your address in case of delivery failure or any other cases.

Correct My Delivery Address"

- Stanton, MI, USA

I visited USPS website and made arrangements for an address change. I was charged $89 plus change. The cost is like $1. The website looked right, as have used it before.

I received an email from USPS with a subject line of "Delivery Failure Notification". I noted a number of red flags.

Hovering over the email showed a different email than usps.

I didn't send anything.

I wasn't expecting anything.

there were no words in the email just an attachment.

Report and delete.

- Seattle, WA, USA

I received a false text which reads "Hello xxxxx, your USPS package with tracking code 91657 is waiting for you to set delivery preferences: xxxxx.info/xxxxx. I am not waiting for a USPS package and the identifying info is fake.

Phishing survey from "USPS"

I received an email from what appeared to be legitimately the USPS stating that I could extend the mail forward for 12 more months past the initial 12 month period. Since this looked exactly like the USPS website, I responded and paid $29.95. I received a confirmation and the credit card posted payment description as "USPS Change of Address" . I contacted the local post office as mail for the member of our household which this extension was done for, is now not receiving mail and I wanted to find out what the problem was. The local post office informed me that they do not do extensions for change of address and that is fraud.

Just a simple address change charged my account $80.00. I was surprised to see that it was that expensive. Calling my bank today to see if I can stop payment.

So dangerous out there. Beware!

UPDATEOFUSMAIL charged $89.95 for USPS change of address. It looked like what I'd remembered on the USPS site, which is what I thought I'd gone to. I saw the pending transaction for $89.95 and thought that maybe it was only a hold and that the $1.05 would go through the next day. The full amount was charged to my account. I don't remember the URL but the only information I have is what is listed with the charge from my bank account. The email address may be Postal Address Change Services ([email protected]).
