I went online to purchase Christmas stamps on Cyber Monday. When I typed in USPS stamps this website came up and stated they were having a sale. I thought very little of it because everyone was having a sale on cyber Monday. Tuesday I went to the post office to mail a package and when I asked about the price of stamps it was $13.20 for 20 of them. I made the remark that they were cheaper online and she said "ok, thats great! I would get them there" so I really thought all was well. As soon as I ordered the stamps I told my mom and sister and they both told me that it sounded like a scam and then pointed me to your ScamPulse.com scam section where I learned I was likely scammed.

I am a serious letter writer who takes pride in his selection of stamps that adorn my envelopes. I saw an advertisement for stamp sale and immediately went to the site, which looked just like the legitimate USPS website. I ordered several back-issue books of stamps no longer in circulation, each 27.50 for five books of 20 stamps. I assumed it was a legitimate stamp sale. This morning, I went to the post office and was speaking with the postmistress, complimenting the USPS on the stamp sale and how excited I was to see these stamp re-issues, when she told me it was illegitimate and a scam. She asked for the email address which doesn't end in .gov and explained that that was one tell-tale sign. She also checked it against a list of know perpetrators and sure enough, this fraudulent outfit was on it. I called my bank immediately to file a complaint and reverse the charges.
