Scammer has you sign up with provider for expensive phone, then has you mail the phone back to you. TELUS Mobility has been trying to get them shut down since MAY 2024.

Telus escalation team verified this is a scam, and have been unsuccessful getting the 1 844 number shut down to date.

They pretended to be the Telus loyalty department, offering to upgrade my phone for free.

Asked a lot of mailing information, etc. Then called back later to get verificated code that had been sent via text message

On April 17 I received a called from the number 6043235278 who told me they were calling me from Telus, they want me to change my phone line (I am a Fido customer) offering me a good deal of iPhone 14 Pro Max + 30 GB of data for 50 dollars, to complete the transaction they asked me personal information (full name, address, email, the 4 last digits of my SIN number), in that moment I called to the Telus number to asked if this kind of questions were normal and they told me "yes, we ask this kind of questions to verify the credit score) reason why I continue with the purchase, at the end of the call this "agent" told me that if I had any question or I wanted to track the iPhone shipment I could contact them to the number 647-490-0303, next day in the afternoon I received an email confirmation with the order details, today (April 20, 2023) they called me again to told me that they were going to pay my Fido bill (because I just owed just one month) and they needed my Fido online account for that then they changes my personal data on it. In this moment I contacted Fido directly and they told me they suspended it because of fraud intent. Later I change the password again but I am because they have my personal data in this moment.

I already reportes this to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, Telus.
