I was given an employment verification letter from a Valeria Conte and did some real estate online research. Once paid by check, after depositing, I learned a month later their checks are fraudulent. They clear after 7 days - but my bank flagged them and froze my account with the cleared funds. The woman, Valeria Conte pretended she didn't know why it happened. When I told her my bank needs verification from the check issuer, she replied "The bank should have that info." I googled and got the phone number of the issuer (her "customer") from their website and provided to my bank, but they still said they cannot verify the number. I called the number myself which ended up being the personal cell phone of someone from the company. I told them about the checks, and they asked if I had a screenshot of the checks, which I did, and sent. They called back and said those are not their checks. So clearly Valeria Conte issued fraudulent checks, has not responded to emails or phone calls, and my bank subsequently closed my account to prevent further fraud. In another account I deposited a check for $5,000 and after one month it was charged back to my account after the funds were used, leaving a -$4,800 balance due the bank.
