Type of a scam Employment
I sent back my signed job offer, direct deposit info and an emergency contact paper as well as my legit w4 with all my personal information on it. About an hour or so after they received it, they messaged me on skype which is where i had previously interviewed and spoke to HR manager Bobby Holmes and said that they noticed my credit union had mobile banking, so they wanted to send me a check to my email instead with another email with instructions on how to deposit it thru the app and what to do about purchasing the softwares and macbook pro and hp deskjet pro printer instead of sending it like they initially said. I immediately knew it was a scam after that and called my bank and changed my accounts and secure those and called the police and made a report. I called the nebraska ScamPulse.com and made a report. I got on my experian account and locked my credit file and placed a fraud alert on my social security number as i was on the phone with the bank. I placed a fraud alert on my credit file and ss # thru all 3 credit bureaus. And basically was vigilant af otherwise it was a Friday afternoon and my whole life would’ve been stolen and ruined by monday morning. GETTING HIRED TOLD ME WHEN I CALLED Them THAT IT WAS A SCAM. And that THEY WILL NEVER EVER TEXT YOU FOR ANYTHING AT All. They also confirmed they DO NOT work with that company at all and customer service, i mean, the guy apologized, BUT There’s nothing HE HIMSELF could do but getting hired COULD/SHOULD step in and help me. Especially with the super heightened fear and anxiety about my identity being stolen, and the EXTRA incurred costs of credit monitoring, credit lock credit protection and the cost of removing my name and info from people search websites. As well as the unnecessary mental distress, anguish and panic attacks im having as we speak. Please PLEASE???? DO NOT FALL FOR TEXT MESSAGES FROM GETTING HIRED! You’ll save yourself a lifetime of worrying and hell! i regret this. And this is for disabled folks. Smh ???????
