Van Bebber Associates Inc. - Imposter Reports & Reviews (12)

Received a letter from a Shirley Brown stating an offer of employment. Contacted by Diana Robcon - the Operations Manager - email included unprofessional grammar and seemed off. I found this page thankfully.

Current company they are posing as Sierra Construction Company

I filled out the offer letter answered the questions that were sent via email. All seemed pretty legit at first. Until Diana just text me what my schedule would be. After that I did some research and found out it was a scam.I never replied to the text. This was about 3 days ago. Today I received an over 7k check in the mail from and address in South Carolina, dated for January 7th. I didn’t even know these posers then.

I would like to thank for those whom posted all the reports and warned people to not get in contact with those 2 Diana Robcon and Mary. Ive recently experienced the same things and got an e mail from them offering my work from home job. I went through all the same processes but still kept looking to the company profile there was no name of Diana or Mary until i found your reports guys. Thank God I was still in the beginning and didnt go further than that. Everyday we all discover new things and we learn lessons. So i wish nobody else will get involved with them ! Its fake its scam dont apply to it!

I have also been scammed by “Diana” from Plastonics and a “Mary Benson”. I have worked with them for the past two weeks completing simple tasks like filling out a spread sheets or putting together power point presentations. Like what everyone here has been saying they never asked nor received any of my personal information other than an electronic signature. The offer letter seemed legit and I didn’t have any red flags about the situation until I was trying to figure out from Diana on when I can expect a paycheck and welcome packet from them in the mail. Over the course of the past week they had just been emailing me updates on a paycheck I can expect to come in the mail even though it never did. It was this persistent back and forth of trying to nail down when I’d get paid. As of this point in time they haven’t replied to my most recent messages so it’s safe to assume they’ve moved on from this tactic. I knew it seemed to good to be true and I kept it in my mind that this could easily be a scam from the very beginning. Even after being careful I still feel like a fool because of how much time I wasted on this. Time that could’ve been spent making actual money to pay my rent. Now because of this, because I was expecting something from them I’m no longer able to afford my rent. This setback has hurt me, so now I wish to share this with everyone so that they may be more cautious towards scams like this.

Im scammed too but i was still at the beginning of the procedures until i found your report thank u so much

IMPORTANT Update: the scammers have emailed me with a screenshot for a digital check addressed to me. They told me to deposit this via mobile deposit. It’s not in the amount they specified and from a new email account I do not recognize. The entire time I’ve been speaking to the email: [email protected] whereas this new email was sent directly to my spam folder under the name [email protected]. This is part of the SCAM so beware. Diana Robcon, Mary Benson and now Timothy Abbott are all fake accounts to be aware of.

Basically… EVERYTHING everyone else is saying ! Shirley Brown & Diana Robcon are the names that they are using. Had me doing spread sheets & never answered the phone. It looked and seemed REALLY LEGIT. From the company being a real place (PLASTONICS) , the offer letter to the tasks assigned but after I received a message one morning saying I would receive a check for $7000+ that was a RED FLAG for me. I did some more in-depth research and came about this post & this proved my suspicions from day one. If it is too good to be true it’s a SCAM. Hope this helps others.

I got conned as well by these two people but they stated they worked for Quiddity Engineering LLC. They are definitely good at what they do because everything looked legit. They also unfortunately conned me out of my own money and now all my emergency funds are gone because I was waiting for a fake check to process. I wish I would have found this page before I agreed to waste my time with these thieves.

As most of the others I got a email from Mary Benson, gave the basic info and got the job. I had seen something similar so told them I would cash the check at Citizens Bank where the check was drawn from. Ms. Robcon got quite upset telling me that I could only deposit the check not cash it. I should just follow instructions. When I questioned further I never heard anything back.

My experience was the same, I applied for multiple job postings on Linkedin and received a direct email from "Mary Benson". Like everyone else I never had an interview, just an offer. I started working for "Diana Robcon" soon after and these SOBs had me doing spreadsheets and power points!

It all seemed legitimate, other than the glaringly obvious red flags, and when my first "paycheck" came in the mail it was a few thousand more than I was expecting. From there I was asked to deposit the check, make a few money orders, and mail it back, all for very serious and real reasons.

For anybody reading: how this scam works is by sending you a 'real' check that will not immediately bounce when you deposit it. Then, you take this new money, place it into your account, and withdraw your actual real money and send it to this waste of oxygen. This means the scammer now has 'legitimate' money, and you have a lot of 'promised' money that will be demanded back from the bank as soon as they realize in 1-2 weeks that it's actually a fake check. So, you're now on hook for the full amount of the check you deposited, plus any fees or charges they want to throw your way for wasting their time. Not only that: you're now out however much you sent the scammer, with little to no recourse!

I want to emphasize the check they sent looked real: had all the watermarks, tamper evident security features, perforated edge, everything. Unfortunately, it's all too good to be true.

The scammers communicated though these:

[email protected]

I added my super real and legit offer as well.

Received an email from a LinkedIn. Mary Benson stated she a recruiter from Van Bebber & Associate Inc. She received my resume regarding my LinkedIn job ad. She gave some details as to the job. If I am interested in the offer, click the form link below to start your hire process:

I clicked the link filled out some questions. Like if I was a US citizen able to work in the USA. The normal questions that are asked. Then hit next and there were like 10 different questions like one would get asked during a job interview:

like How well do you work under pressure

How do you control errors in you work.

What are your personal goals.

I answered the questions and then the next morning I got an email from Mary Benson. She said Your application was received and you have been considered to take the position of Personal assistant. Kindly find the letter attached to this email. If you accept the offer, have the letter signed and send back a copy to my email. Respectfully Mary Benson.

I did this. The form had an official letter head. It was an offer of employment with the details of the job and the amount of pay (which was amazing amount of money for a part time job.)

There is no phone number or any way to contact them except through that email. The person I am to work with, Operation Manager Mrs. Diana Robcon does not work for Van Bebber. I called Van Bebber and they stated that it is a scam. I am supposed to start work this Friday 10/21/2022. I reached out via LinkedIn to other people who work for Van Bebber & Associate Inc. I spoke to another person going through the same thing a me; Justin, he has done two days of work for them with spreadsheets. But the phone number that he has does not work anymore. I do not know what they are getting from just my email address telephone number and address. But the job posting was not real. It disappeared off LinkedIn when I tried to find it. They did get my signature. I will not be engaging with them from here on out.
Now because of this scamming crap I'm going to lose my house.

I had applied for a few jobs via LinkedIn Easy Apply recently and received a response to one of them, then an email from a gmail address from a Mary Benson, who stated she was a recruiter from Van Bebber & Associates, Inc. She stated she received my resume regarding her "post job ad". I didn't recall applying for this specific position but wondered if my resume had somehow been passed on to her from another job posting. She included a link to start my hiring process, which appeared to ask legitimate career experience questions and did not ask for any SS# or DOB, so did not raise any red flags. The next day I received another email with an offer of employment attached with an overview of the company culture and detailing the job duties, compensation and benefits. I was asked to sign the offer of employment and return it to her via email if I wished to accept it. It seemed odd to me that I would be offered the job without being interviewed or even speaking to anyone, so I called the company's main phone number. I googled them and they are a legitimate company, but when I called they explained that they were aware of a scammer presenting themself as working on behalf of the company and falsely making offers of employment.
