I received several emails that I was a finalist being considered for an award, but in order to win the award, I would have to join the organization first, which has a $500 registration fee.

Received an email but recognized it as a likely Vanity Scam, as Elkins Park is a small town with only one business (mine) in the award category. Didn't even try to click through. I'm attaching a screenshot of the email.

Received a message though my contact form on my website notifying me I had been selected as the best of my town for Kitchen Remodeling, and after clicking into the website I found they require me to pay from $150-230 for the award.

I’ve read this is an ongoing scam from this “company” reaching out to small businesses and wanted to report them as well.

The email offered what I suspect was a vanity award. It said my business had received the annual "New York Award" in the category of Meditation center (this is the category visible on my business page on Google). I could not confirm the existence of such an award. Furthermore, mine is a small, low-profile business; it's unlikely it would have received a city-wide award. The email asked me to click on a link to learn more about the award. I did not do so, but I suspect that the website would have offered me the award for a fee.

I've attached a copy of the email received. The scam email led me to a site that encouraged me to purchase a plaque, etc. for an supposed award I had won. Prices ranged from 149-299 depending on what I wanted to receive. They also listed the variety of benefits to displaying the information.
