I received a warning on my computer the Windows Defender had blocked my computer from use and the internet. The warning asked me to call 1-855-528-0111 to unblock the computer. The person I spoke with a Raymond Miller who stated he worked for a company that worked for Windows Defender and could unlock my computer. He said my IP address had been compromised, he asked me to download a file so he can access my computer then asked for checking information and charged me $429.95. I called a friend of mine who advised me this was a scam and to call my bank immediately which I did. I had them stop payment on the check I used and will be closing my bank account. I also changed all my passwords to all my accounts as well. I also removed any software from my computer and will be taking it in to have scanned.
