This was a third party ad that appeared on the Publishers Clearing House website back in February, 2024. It featured comment after comment after comment that for $8.95 buyers couldn't believe they received a new iPad or some other digital device. There must of been thirty or more comments in the ad, leading one to believe just filling out a short form and for less than 9 dollars you would get a device sent to you. Luckily, I used a gift money card that only had 15 dollars on it, so no further amounts could be taken out. But I wonder how many unsuspected buyers, probably in the thousands, sent in money and received zero? I found out from the gift card company who the money went to. It was a website called Variety Pet Book Shop. No mention of receiving anything to do with pets was mentioned in the ad. Nor would I have sent the money in as I do not have any pets. I have emailed back the pet company from the address on the website several times, but received NO response. Finally I see the website has been taken down. More proof of a scam. I have also contacted Publishers Clearing House several times, to first complain about their "third party advertiser", and to say money was sent in, nothing was received. I kept getting back form letters saying they are not responsible for third party ads. In my last email to them, I suggested they should act more responsibly and contact the third-party advertisers when complaints are received. I just got back the standard email saying they are not responsible for third party advertisers. It was a lesson learned that cost nine dollars. That could have cost much more. I'm not sure who I should be more upset at? The scam business? Or Publishers Clearing House for allowing scam ads on their website.
