My little sister got approached by Vector Marketing via Instagram Direct Message. They stated that they were reaching out to greek life students because they have a large audience but when she asked how they found her they did not give a straight answer. She began working for them but they immediately began asking her to send 25 friends or family members first name, last name, and phone number. She still has not been told what she has to do for her job besides sending people’s contact info she knows. They asked her to pay $100 to “buy” her position but I told her to not do that. I don’t know if they are a pyramid scheme or what but they are starting to harass her after she decided to quit and are still contacting the contacts she put down. I googled them and it seems like they are a “legitimate” business but they shouldn’t be preying on my barley 18 year old sister to send her other young friends and then demanding money. Really weird.

Vector Marketing reached out to my daughter via the USPS. When she contacted them, Stacy, told her the job was for marketing only and only for the office. When researching the company, it is for door-to-door cutlery sales.

My son just finished High School and received this letter and envelope soliciting him to apply for a job (see attached). We both felt it was a deceptive letter and did not pursue to offer. I am concerned because it targets youth that may not know otherwise and sounds like a scam according to other posts I found out:

I almost got suckered into this scam back when I was 21. I was looking for a summer job and I saw a "summer job" ad so I checked it out. I went in to the "interview" and they instantly hired you, which I thought was very suspicious. Then all the people they hired had to come back for training, which lasted a week. I had to sit through about 5 of these long boring classes, and finally they tell me that my job would be selling knives and I would have to find my OWN CLIENTS! Now I've never been the type that had a lot of friends or knew a lot of people...so immediately thought this was BS. I knew none of my friends, who were all college aged kids, would want to buy this crap...much less could they afford it!! The biggest BS of all is that after 5 classes they tell you you have to buy this your first set of knives... which is like 300 dollars or some outrageous amount. I realized I was being suckered into a scam and immediately wanted OUT. They are just a bunch of salespeople who are trying to take advantage of young naive kids looking for a job! And don't believe any of the ads here that say "I worked for Vector Marketing and make 50 grand a year" ! This is what you call a LIE. These postings are fake---they were written by the salespeople that run the scams at Vector Marketing.

Contacted over social media (first alarm) for limited internships that they were looking to fill quickly and to fill out a short application (second alarm - no details on position, google form, nothing professional applications have) for a position that would pay $15 base/appt (third alarm). Read detailed comments online and the consensus is that Vector Marketing is a scam that deliberately preys on high school and college students offering a fake door-door to sales position as experience.

The scammer, named Zoe Zuress, attempted to contact me over facebook offering me a summer job to me or anyone I knew who was interested which was $15 an hour, part or full time, where I would meet with people to sell them product, or to be a customer service agent. They were offering scholarships and internships, along with looking to fill their office as soon as possible.

The reason I thought this was suspicious at first was because of the contact being made of facebook instead of a formal email or job posting. Secondly, I looked online to find out about the company and was graced with a plethora of other individuals complaining about this scamming agency attempting to sell knives to young people. I didn't let the scenario play out long enough to figure out exactly what their goal was past employment, due to searching up the company and feeling personally disrespected that this person thought I was stupid enough to fall for their scam.

My cousin was called saying I had referred him for a job there, they gave my full name to him and told him that since I had recommended him, he could skip the application process and just come in for an interview.

I had never heard of Vector Marketing and I have never recommended anyone to Vector Marketing.

Scam proposes a great deal for some college students who need extra cash. According to some online forums, the scam is well known as a door-to-door marketing scam.
