Same exact scenario, except that the scammer Said their name was Emma. They contacted me from this number: (714)515-6179 which of course goes to vector mobile. Service provider and related phone lines have all been reported to BBB as well as several other institutions including the cell carrier company.

I had a friend reach out to me that they received a text from someone named Cassandra that said I referred my friend for a job. They sent her a fake screenshot of a text conversation where “I” said my friend was looking for a job and giving her information. I don’t know anyone by that name, nor would I give out my friends information without their permission. This “Cassandra” even took it a step further by sending an email to my friend claiming to be my manager. Again, not the case.

I called the number these texts were sent from and it went to an automated service for Vector Mobile jobs. You can’t speak to a person at all.

I’m concerned about someone claiming to be my boss, faking text messages, and contacting my friends. If this is a scam, which I feel it may be a pyramid scheme, I don’t want my friends thinking it’s me putting them in this position.
