Someone going by the name of Calliope responded to my application for a Remote and work-from-home Data Entry Clerk/Administrative Assistant position I applied to on Zip Recruiter. She stated the interview/briefing would take place via Skype and instructed me to add S.live:hrsutherlandandmickey.18 to my contacts and then let her know so I may be contacted to begin. Then after a few minutes of me answering 10 questions, I was notified that I was hired. It was explained to me that I would be mailed a FREE prepaid laptop. Then I was told that a check would be mailed along with a checklist. What happened, instead, is I was emailed a check and was given specific instructions to deposit it via my mobile banking app by 8 AM and then notify them with a screenshot and send it via email. I received the check which did not have the company name anywhere on there or the President/CEO's name on it. I met with a representative of my bank who confirmed the red flag being the check being mailed and including a sign-on bonus which is fraudulent activity. Steer clear of this scam. Here are some of the names that were used: Calliope, Mr. Richard Bowie (interview manager/senior editor), Colleen Holland (co-founder and publisher), Joe Connelly.
