I posted an ad on Kijiji with my phone number on the ad. I was contacted by this person within a few minutes of posting saying they were from a town a few hours away. I didn’t recognize the area code so asked about it. They claimed that they had just moved and didn’t have a chance to switch. They asked a couple of questions about the snowmobile I am selling and then asked for a vehicle report from vehicleanalyze.com. I looked at the site where they wanted a fee in USD to do a report which didn’t make sense to me as I have owned this sled for a number of years and did all my own servicing so a report would not tell them anything. The person was insisting on that because he wanted to know before he made a trip to look at it. I gave him the vin and license number and told him to get the report himself. He replied that he needed the report before driving all that way. I told him that he should do his own searches. No reply. Less than an hour later I got a text from another out of province area code.14355498273(Utah) they start off asking the exact same question and follow it with the same statement that they could come and get it tomorrow or next day. I looked up the area code right away because this was way too coincidental and got the same excuse . I then told him he was a scammer and wasn’t interested in continuing. I did not give out any banking information but did send a picture of the registration that shows my name, the license plate number and the vin. I don’t know if they can do anything with it.
