Type of a scam Online Purchase
Scammer reached out to me by text asking me if I'm "still selling" my car. He then asked how long I've owned it and where I'm located, states it's between my car and "another one", and that my asking price is fair compared to others. After attempting to schedule with him, he says to do 5pm and that he needs to talk to Manager before leaving work and arrange a ride down, then asks for a "VR" report (vehicle report). He then guides me to use the vehicleinvestigationrecord.com website which looks phony and I used AutoCheck instead. After sending him the AutoCheck report, he responds that the report he needs to see has to be from the one he linked to and that I keep sending him something he didnt ask for, and again states his scam website. After ignoring him, he texts me twice more requesting vehicle report so he "can check history first before scheduling day off tomorrow" to meet me.
