Scammer emailed my personal account but lists the email address as “[email protected]” and states Emilia Hardy requests $98.99 (with a Venmo hotlink)

It LOOKS like it is a legit payment request directly from VENMO and uses a venmo address to send and “[email protected]”

Worried that my account is hacked OR is this just a phishing scam? FYI cannot get a LIVE person from venmo to speak to about this after trying for an HOUR on their online and phone customer service.

They tried to scam me once before but were not successful. They try to get you into their site and say you have to rush into their site so they can cancel the attempt to send money. I said I do not have a paypal account and they get inpatient with me. I found out once you get into their site, they try to steal information by looking at your IP address.

I told them they are a scam and they hang up on me.

Sent an email from the official Venmo Email with the email subject "You paid $99.99 using Venmo. If not authorized by you, call Customer Service +1-805-500-6152" I called the number to find out about the scam as I was skeptical from the beginning, The scammer tried to act as Venmo/PayPal Agent and sent an OTP on my phone to try to hack on PayPal account. I did not share OTP as I knew it was a scammer, then tried to send an email for account "recovery" which obviously would not come from Venmo! I didn't click and removed the email as spam but told the scammer that I know its a scam and they hung up. Others might get help if this number 805-500-6152 is highlighted as a scammer.
