I had applied for this job through Indeed.com. I then got a text to schedule an interview through Microsoft Teams. The person I was in contact with was named Debra Spickerman. I texted to schedule an interview but was told the interview was happening right then. I went through the interview, and she asked normal interview questions. I was also hired on the spot and said that my first day was the day after the interview. For the next week, I worked like normal. The following week the "supervisor" cut contact with me. I tried texting and calling for that whole week with no response. The following week, the "supervisor" got back into contact telling me that I would get sent a check to buy equipment. I get sent this check that looks completely normal, and I try to mobile deposit it into my bank. The next day I get an email from my bank saying the check is "unacceptable". That email also told me to take it to a branch of my bank. I took it to a branch and was immediately told that the check was FRAUDULENT. I confronted the "supervisor" about it and have not received any notice back.
