Verizon Scam Reports & Reviews (6)

I Googled the phone number to use to make a phone payment for my Verizon account. The person I spoke with when I used the phone number I received from my Google search (1-888-636-3481), knew exactly how much my payment due was. I was told the charge would appear as TAQ Network LLC. I did feel like I might be in a scam situation and asked to end the call without action. I was told it was not a scam and I would be given a Reference number, which I was (Ref. No. NV00000476712686.) I had already given him the payment information.

I did receive a Scam notification and responded F, to report as fraud. I spoke with the credit union the next day, but because Verizon was showing payment pending, I authorized reopening the account so the payment would process.

For 10 days Verizon showed that payment on my account was pending. I felt comfortable payment was made. On day 10 I received a text message that my payment could not be processed. The payment did come out of my account 10 days prior. When I spoke with Verizon I was told the payment was not authorized.

I feel it is important to bring it to someone's attention that a scammer(s) have access to Verizon's individual accounts to report balance due and can steal payments and even make it look like payment was made initially! Verizon needs to do something about that.

Can you tell me if you ever got yours resolved?

Paid $412.27 for a device pay off on September 16, 2024 to Verizon. Payment went through on my credit card. On Verizon’s website the payment was “pending” then appeared to go through. Then it said pending then appeared to go through several more times until the Verizon account was suspended on November 13th. We provided proof to Verizon that the payment went through but they stated that was not a payment to them because it was listed TAQ Networks llc. We called TAQ networks directly and they confirmed they are affiliated with Verizon. I believe Verizon is purposely doing in order to receive more money than they are owed. There is another person this happened to and they also reported it to bbb in June. I also believe Verizon did this to make it harder to claim fraud on our credit card.

The scammers claimed someone had used my Verizon account to purchase an iPad and gave a specific address in California. When I asked questions and it took a long time, I got upset and I was given to the supervisor. He offered me a refund to my account through Affirm. Each contact and connection looked just like Verizons website and emails. They even sent 6 digit verification codes. I have another phone number they used that may be from Colombia. 9373189476

The longer the conversation went on they asked for my last four and then a copy of my driver's license. Beware

I was visiting a website on my verizon wireless device and I got a pop up asking me to answer questions to win a new flagship phone. (I work for verizon so I hear about scams and tricks all day.) I immediately start taking screenshots of the content, and copied the website addresses associated with the messages, and than immediately reported them to verizon. Guess you can only attach one picture, this is the first thing that popped up.
