I received a call from "Verizon Wireless Store representative" Who asked for me by name and can I approve a purchase for items in my cart. I just hung up the phone. I called Verizon Wireless operator who confirmed that they did not call me, there is no activity on my account, and they did not recognize the phone number I provided to them from the caller. They suggested that I contact my credit card company.

I am concerned that these "scammers" will fool people to give up personal information.
