On 2 Feb 17 I received a phone call with an Out of Area caller ID. After my hello the caller stated "My name is Joe from Veterans Now" and then asked "can you hear me now?" I responded "yes I can". Joe did not respond. I asked "are you still there?" Then there was only silence, and finally dial tone.

This happened a second time on the same day, but I was aware of the problem and did not answer and merely hung up the phone after Joe said his name and organization.

I have not identified any further action or damage from this scam, but I have read that it is a possibility.

I assume it was a charity. A man said this is "Veterans Now" this call is being recorded, can you hearing me.

I hung up.
