Received a letter in mail from Viking Legal Services saying I was delinquent on a payday loan from EZ Money. It was headlined Notification of Lawsuit and Legal Complaint. Had last 4 digits of my SSN, a place of work where I no longer work, parents names who are both deceased, and current address. Also claimed I had obtained the loan and then closed or changed my bank account so that my check was returned due to insufficient funds. Threatened to put a lien on my current house, subpoena my deceased parents as witnesses, and to serve me a court summons by the County Sheriff’s Office to appear in civil court for further action. Letter was postmarked August 22,2024. Due date to pay was September 6, 2024.
