I listed a car on craigslist, and this person reached out to me wanting to buy the car. but first, they had me go to http://vinchecked.com/ to run a history report. I did and emailed it to them at [email protected] and they disappeared. after a bit of research turns out to be a scam

I am selling my car on autotrader.com. I was contacted by someone who said they were interested in my car and wanted to see it the next day. They asked for the VIN report in advance and requested that I specifically buy it from http://car-reporting.net

The next day after providing the interested party with the report there was absolutely no response. My text and calls went unanswered and unreturned. I look this up online and realized that they were specifically asking me to provide my credit card number on the above site, claiming that they wanted a VIN report before coming to Indianapolis to see the car in person.
