I listed my car for sale on Craig's list and a person called me but connection was bad so sent me a text. He was interested in my car but wanted to see a vehicle report first. he sent me a website(link) vinncheckpremium.com that I should use to get the report and then send it to him by email so he would know the condition of the car.

I asked if he lived in central Ohio since the phone number came up as Bentleyville, PA. I told him in a text that he would do this himself as I listed the VIN on the for sale listing. I decided to sleep on it and today I checked for scams with ScamPulse.com and sure enough there is such a scam. I went to the site he sent me and put in my vin then stopped. Pretty sure I would have to purchase the VIN report. I did not look to see how much it would cost. It all seemed a bit strange when I added it all up.

I hope he is caught soon. Beware.

Pretending they wanted to buy our vehicle. Then asked us to get report for them thru a web site they gave us. Wanted our credit information to charge $19.99 to our card for the report. Something did not seem right so I did not follow through. This was very professionally presented but positive it is a scam.
