I entered a drawing for a chance to win a trip while signing my son up for a local Snapology Lego camp. When I received the call to say we won I was shocked! Of course I thought they were legit because why would this camp be involved with scammers?! On the call the male representative was friendly and gave details about the trip including past guest experiences. The trip was a 7 day/6 night Florida vacation from VIP Florida Resorts. In exchange for sitting in a meeting about time shares we would be able to stay in Orlando resort. A trip to Daytona Beach and one "bonus" location was also included, but the stay in Orlando was required first. The only thing we had to pay was $500 and all other expenses excluding flight would be covered. When I agreed, the male rep "transferred" me to a female travel coordinator who took my contact and credit card info. She gave me further details about the package including that all stays had to occur within the next 12-18 months. I did not have the means to do 3 trips in such a short time frame so she offered me "Date Flexibility Insurance" for an extra $100 which allowed us to extend that time limit to 3 years. We were all in at that point and made the payment. The travel coordinator sent me an email confirmation with all of the details attached in PDFs. We were given a confirmation number and everything. The PDFs were very simple and looked like they were made in MS Word by a kid in high school. I got a weird vibe, but I thought maybe it was a small start up travel agency. There was a website where the trips could be booked after logging in so that also added credibility. Another sketchy part of the email had this disclaimer:

"*Please do not call back your travel coordinator or the number that shows up on your caller ID. The travel coordinators are not equipped to handle your customer service or reservation needs, customer service is equipped to assist you."

I thought that was strange, but again chalked it up to small start up business and wanted to give them a chance. Fast forward a year and some change, I went to book our family vacation today. The number I was instructed to call to book my trip 727-940-3089 would not go through and immediately disconnected. I went to their website, it no longer exists. So ******! I am working with my credit card company to try to get refunded. One other thing to note, on my credit card transaction the business name is VIP 5 STAR TRAVEL with a phone number of 727-264-7599. I hope these scammers are caught and pay for their deceit and manipulation!
