Type of a scam Employment
This interview happened through Google Hangouts. I thought it was odd that I didn’t even get a phone call but these were unprecedented times and I thought that is how this company does it’s business. So I didn’t think anything of it.
All of our exchanges happened through Google Hangouts. As each of our conversations went on, I talked to a total of three people. Each of them being more pushy than the last.
They said that they would sent me a $5,000 check to deposit in my account to buy the necessary equipment to handle my job that I would do at my house. A couple of days later, the check came in the mail and I was feeling pretty desperate to start working that I didn’t give it a second thought.
I took it to PNC and deposited it in my account. It wasn’t until after depositing in my account that things started to get really sketchy. Through Google Hangouts, the main person was constantly asking me to let him know when the check was in my account and just felt like he was getting on my back for not doing things as soon as they assigned them.
I was so stressed by them, that I didn’t even realize that the check was made off of someone in Colorado.
After the check bounced, I now owe ~$5,000 for getting scammed and they haven’t contacted me since. These are the [censored] of the earth.
