I started receiving phone calls on 05/31/24 and the calls were coming in every couple of days under different numbers. The caller ID said the call was coming from Washington. I decided to answer the phone one day and it was a female who said she was calling from Visa credit card company. She then handed the call off to someone named Daniel who she stated was her supervisor. Daniel said he was calling because he stated someone opened up 2 new credit cards under my name. He proceeded to state the last 4 digits of my social security # and asked me to confirm. I told him I did not open any new credit cards. He was telling me that I had other credit cards and said he could see that I was only making partial payments. He then proceeded to tell me the names of the businesses and asked me to confirm. When I wouldn't confirm, he then started to tell me that he sees I am a senior citizen and that he could get me a 2.5% interest rate credit card. I told him I was not interested. The number he gave me was 205-831-9906 and he told me he was calling from Florida. I contacted my bank and asked about the interest rates and they were not aware of any rates being at 2.5%. I am concerned this person had the last 4 digits of my ss# somehow.
