Vision PC Support Reports & Reviews (5)

In March, my husband got a phone call from Vision PC Support Customer Support, a man with a foreign accent, calling himself Daniel Reed. Saying we would have tech support for 5 years. So we paid $149 with a check over the phone to AGG Computer Service. Then yesterday, he called back and said there was criminal activity on our computer. He said there are thousands of errors concerning someone trying to access your bank account. He pulled up pictures of the Taliban/assault weapons/little girls, on our computer. We said we're calling the sheriff, then our computer began to crash. We called the sheriff department. The deputy came out and said the tech support company was the same as the criminals. By then they had taken all of their information off my computer. We called the bank and got new cards.

After a Microsoft update download, I rec'd a popup message stating that my computer had been compromised and my financial information may be vulnerable. I could chose to ignore this warning by clicking on the ignore tab, however, no matter how many times I clicked nothing happened and I was unable to access anything on my computer. I called the number, a man answered who then proceeded to provide all sorts of information that "proved" his company is contracted by Microsoft and would fix the problem. The hitch was a fee of 105 dollars to download webroot to keep my pc from being hacked in the future. The webroot program is on my pc but I am now wondering if it has spyware or has been altered in some way to continue gathering information on my pc. This company says it is located in NY but no listing is available. If my pc had not been unresponsive when the popup appeared I probably would not have called this company. Their ability to "freeze" my pc scared me into purchasing the webroot subscription. Call and report them immediately if this should happen to you. There was nothing wrong with my PC before or after this interaction with vision pc support according to a knowledgeable friend who reviewed my pc. There are several other complaints about this company.

Alert recd "Call 1888-655-7317 or data and programs will be permanently lost. I called and a man answered and said he was Simon from Vision and a Microsoft Partner #79033667 or 58745. He offered a free service of Windows Defender, Anti Virus Security, On-line ID and Password Security from Vision PC Support at 1-877-663-9441 Sec. Code 415C02RG9S. After some time he demanded over $500 for services rendered. I refused. I next saw my forged signature on my computer screen. Per a professional evaluation, my computer was crashed by this person's actions. I stopped payment on the forged check.

Received a call on 11-30-2017 saying that our computer was compromised. They talked us into purchasing protection for our computer for 225.00. We received a second call on 1-3-2018 saying the computer was hacked again and we needed additional coverage and for them to install the protection we needed for them to install 5 years of protection they charged us 596.00. They called again on 3-17-2018 and I told them that I wanted a refund because we were still having problems. They said the only way they could refund the money is for them to send me a cashier check for 3000.00 and go to Target and get a gift card for 2179.00, which is the difference of what they owe me. Then I was to call them with the gift card number and they would give me a code to be able to process the cashier check at the bank to get my money. I refused to do that and hung up with them. They continue to call using a number that comes up as private caller.

This company has a window that pops up saying your Microsoft License has expired and gives a phone number to call to renew it. They have a legitimate website that says they are a microsoft partner. They make you believe that you are purchasing Microsoft software but really all they provide is firewall and virus protection (maybe??? They probably install malware--we are not sure yet) Anyway, they control your computer remotely to install all of the programs. They also ask that you do a check online instead of a credit card, so they have your routing and account number. This happened to my mom who is in her 80s. I called the company back and demanded a refund, but they say they have already provided the service so the money cannot be refunded. They supposedly sold her a 5 year license for Microsoft, but it says nothing about that on the invoice that they print out for you.
