After applying to a LinkedIn job posting, I received an email from "Corey," which included a PDF file of the company, information on the position that I applied to, and an interview request. When I confirmed the interview time, he requested that I download the Ring App for our interview, which I did. At the time of the interview, "Corey" messaged and said it would be a chat job briefing. He then provided information on the position and company. While he was providing this information, I called Vitas to confirm this position. I was informed that this was the 5th call they had received like this, and unfortunately, the position was not legitimate. I messaged Corey and told him that I would like to have a phone conversation with them to discuss the job posting and confirm the legitimacy of the position to which he replied, "Drop your number." I then asked if there was an office number I could call to discuss the position with them - Corey stopped responding to my messages after I asked this. The initial email from Corey came from the email address [email protected] - the first red flag that I should not have overlooked.
