I am really not sure if these guys are scammers as it is the first time I am dealing with mystery shopping. I received a check and for 2450 and was told to keep 200 after the completion of certain (unclarified) tasks on Walmart. Well I don’t remember going to any type of screeening so this company doesn’t know of my ethics. It just sounds fishy that a company would send me check for that amount without any type of prior over the phone or in person interview it recruitment process. Upon googling I was read about similar stories. Please investigate.

I applied to a job on indeed to be a mystery shopper and gor contacted by email and then by mail with a check for $2,450 and that $200 of that was my salary and the rest was to be spent at walmart with a list of purchases they would provide after depositing the check in my bank account.

I received a message on my LinkedIn account about a job opportunity for secrecy shopping. I replied because who wouldn't want to make some easy cash?

About a week later I received a text message stating that my first task will be sent to me via mail. Today I received a letter that was sent to me through USPS as a priority mail and when I opened it it came with a cashier's check for $2,450 saying that $200 was my salary for the task. As I began to research a little more something felt off. The address listed on the letter is in California and brings me to a residential area. And when I search the website it's nonexistent. The name on the letter, on the packaging, and on the check are all different.

I received an email from Vocal Mystery Shoppers to be hired as a Walmart secret shopper. They wanted me to go to Walmart and make purchases with cashier's checks. I was instructed to send them a text, and that once I do all future correspondence would be through text only. I was also mailed a check with the Premier Community Credit Union. This was supposed to cover my expenses and task salary. The nature of the job became too suspicious so I froze my credit account and filed a police report where I was told that phone number is not even in service.

Sent a check for $2450.00; deposit in my account, get assignment via text everything via text. However, when call number it just rings after 1 minute a recording stating it is either busy or disconnected. Well, how will I get assignment no valid contact/text number.

Not list with the mystery shoppers association. No valid website.

This scam has a person deposit a bank printed check, that will clear if you call bank/CU to check available funds. After funds are available in your account they'll ask you to make withdrawal for the full amount or let ya take $200 of the top, then BY TEXT communication only, they will give instructions to buy money order or MoneyGram and send to a random name and number elsewhere. Then they will STOP PAYMENT on the check you've "cashed" which then makes your account $2500 less plus whatever fees your bank applies, etc. and if instructions are followed you will have already purchased and sent the money orders never to be recovered again.
