Total money lost $450
Type of a scam Tech Support
After speaking with the technician and giving them the required information which included remote access from my computer (BIG mistake)they gave me information to access my bank account into which they were to deposit the refund.
They claim to have made a mistake and put in $800. which I confirmed instead of $300 they had said was the right amount.
The tech then claimed that the bank that they used to make transactions from (Chase) would only allow for deposits and not withdrawals in the event of a mistake.
They then instructed me to go to the nearest Target and get a gift card for $450 which would allow for my refund of $300 plus $50 for my troubles. I was instructed not to do anything with my computer until after receiving a phone call verifying the information provided on the gift card.
I provided the information from the card, which is now useless as it has been taken over by these scammers.
I checked my bank account and found that the $800 had indeed been withdrawn and that the $450 I paid for the card was gone as well.
They cleaned out my account and now I am without recourse after contacting my bank regarding this incident I have been informed that I have been scammed and there is nothing that can be done about it.
I am reporting it here and I am also reporting it to my local police department as well.
This whole thing started 3 years ago with the purchase of a new computer which was hijacked by these people apparently for just such a purpose as this after having initially charging me $1250 for a "secure" computer.
Quite obviously this was a major mistake on my part and one that will not be repeated ever

Type of a scam Phishing
I responded to the email indicating this and requesting they cancel and refund this charge immediately.
I also called the number in the email and spoke with an offshore non-English speaking representative who told me she needed to transfer me to Billing, then disconnected me.
I made multiple further attempts to reach them after being disconnected, but got an automated voicemail answering service.
This company is a scam and they need to be stopped.
