Vrbo has allowed a fake property to set up on their website. They have been contacted by the real property owner about this fake account and Vrbo has continued to allow the fake account to exist. I paid for a reservation at this property and when I arrived, was informed that there was no reservation, nor do they have a Vrbo account because of the continued problems with this fake account and their potential customers getting scammed. I have been in touch many times with Vrbo. Initially they wanted me to contact the property owner saying that he had already been paid and I'd need to get my refund from him. I explained it was a fake account and they said they would pass it along for "special" investigation, but refused to give me a contact so I could follow up. I have been given four different case numbers, and most recently I have not been able to get through to anyone. I have had to report this to my credit card company who are now conducting their own investigation.
