This is a voicemail I received on 11-15-23, I have removed my name and address from the text of the voicemail.

Hi , good morning this message is for (my name) my name is Cindy calling on behalf of the state processing unit here in New Hampshire calling in regards to paperwork we received by fax from the law office of Benson and Jacobs they have requested for us to file motion on their behalf with the county court of Hillsboro tomorrow , November 16 and this will be for a possible wage garnishment and or lean once this motion filed they will send the process paperwork to *** ******** *********** ** to speak with someone before then or if if you have any questions or direct direct phone number to call 8 7 7- 7 0 0- 6 5 1 5 . You'll need to provide them the file number ** **** ***** ** *** **** ***** *** **** ******* * * * * you have a good good day .…”

I received a phone call from a Wisconsin number. They left a message "This is a phone call for (my name) my name is Maria and I am calling on behalf of the state processing unit. My call is in regards to paperwork from the law offices of Benson & Jacobs they are asking for us to file a motion tomorrow through the county court. Which will result in a wage garnishment and or lien against you when that motion is filed a process server will be dispatched to the address (my address) if you wish to speak with someone before that motioned is filed please call our direct line 877-700-6515. Thank you and have a good one."

I looked up the website and it looked pretty valid. Except there were no lawyer pictures and not info about any of the individual lawyers. The website was created in April of 2023. The address they gave was an old Wells Fargo Bank and in North Carolina.

Yeah, I got a call from them in October. Same basic message. The old Wells Fargo Bank is being demolished and they're building a medical office building in that location. I actually called and asked them about this and they hung up on me. The website seems pretty boiler plate to me. Like it's using a template that is supposed to get your site started, but they left it basically as is. I called their number (from a different line) and said I was looking for a lawyer to handle a workplace harassment case (something their site says they do) and they got all flustered and said I was clearly not being honest. It's kind of fun to mess with them from time to time. Particularly as they broke the FDCPA by spoofing a number with the intent for financial gain.
