Jason with Walgreens reached out to our office requesting medical visit notes on a patient. This was required for a diabetic monitoring system. He had stated that the primary provider for the patient had sent in a prescription for the monitoring system which was not true. He was very pushy regarding getting this patient information and office notes. I explained to the gentleman that I would need to talk more with the provider and patient. Once I ended that conversation, I called down to the Walgreens the gentleman had stated he was at. I spoke with the pharmacist directly, she states that Jason does not work there directly, but Walgreens does use call centers. She did look up the patient information and advised me that the patient has not ever used their facility and there was no noted prescription for the diabetic monitoring system.

I spoke directly to the patient and she advised me that she was in no way looking to use the diabetic monitoring system and it was a fraudulent call.
