When inquiring about a new phone provider I was told by the Walmart phone associate that I would receive a free phone if I swapped my providers. I needed three phone lines and he proceeded to swap my phone numbers from Xfinity to AT&T. I asked him multiple times if the phone was free he said yes as long as I swapped my phone number once he was finished with mine he stated he was booted out of the system and was unable to complete the other two phones. I’m not sure why AT&T is doing business With Walmart. If they are going to scam people into a new phone line once he finished my phone swap I had no choice but to go to AT&T store to finish the process because he stated that he was unable to swap my phone number back to infinity. I went to the AT&T store and was told that the phone was not free that I was going to get charged $50 per month just for the phone itself on my bill and that would not include the phone line servicesand taxes This is a scam to get you to purchase a phone with Walmart and they know they cannot complete the process they still tell you they’re going to do it for you and at the end of the road you have to get to an AT&T to finish the process. This is a scam. They’re doing to multiple people. I was told by other customers who had recently purchased phones from there and needed multiple phones to be swapped from one provider to another. They were only able to get one phone swapped and then was told that there was a problem with the system. That is exactly what they told me. This is a scam they’re doing and it’s not right. I don’t know why AT&T is doing business with these people. My first bill would have been approximately $200 just for one phone and that was for the down payment plus the $50 for the phone plus the services and taxes that’s not right because they don’t know if people can afford that and they’re doing this to everyone. This is a scam it needs to stop.
