I found a rental listing on Craigslist on 01/12/17. The rental was located at N2059 State Highway 73, Wautoma, WI 54982 and my girlfriend emailed the listed email for more information. My girlfriend received the following response from [email protected]: "thanks for your interest in my property. My name is WANDREY GRANT, My house is still available for rent and move in ready now. I would love to come and show you my house myself but i already left for my new Job here in Rockford, IL. I had to leave due to emergencies at work and Family, but you are free to drive by the house, peek through the available open windows to have a better view of the interior and exterior then get back to me if you are satisfied with what you see so we can proceed further. NOTE: The Agent sale sign board in front of the house will be removed from the house as soon as I get a tenant with good credit or at least would be able to make monthly payment at when due.

You can text me on (201) 472-3583 no phone calls will be answer as I'm at work" I went on to text the provided number and received a response. I requested to talk with the person and I received a phone call from the listed number. The person sounded like a male with a possibly African accent using British English. He claimed to be originally from Thailand and that he grew up in Wautoma, WI. I confronted him as a scammer and he hung up the phone. I later contacted a man named Grant Wandrey at 920-342-6994 who is the actual property owner. He told me he had a different phone number the scammer had been using out of California. He also told me his property is for sale and listed online. He stated he has reported the scam to Waushara County Sheriff's Office and is working with Detective Louis Braatz.
