Approached by text to apply for data entry/customer service position from Wantai BioPharm. Was offered position but before personal information was provided to them I looked them up and discovered the scam they are running. The only personal info I provided was the name of my bank and cell carrier. I am hoping that is not enough for them to do anything with?

I have been approached with the same type and procedure. They "interview" over text or MS-Teams. Their short replies tend to use broken english..not professional language. They "hire" you and send a check bia FedEx to use to pay for equipment, software, and training time. The check is LARGE, but will not deposit via ATM and a bank SHOULD recognize it as faked. You write checks to the 3rd party that they cash, then their check bounces, leaving you responsible for the checks you wrote.
