Wargaming Group Limited Reports & Reviews (1)

- Huntsville, AL, USA • Oct 24, 2024

Wargaming today released an item known as "Tech Tree Trade-In" which supposedly gave the community the ability to "trade-in" a set of vehicles used in their video game for another one.

The issue here is that the cost to do so was nearly $60 for a base example.

What makes this a legitimate scam, however, is that the cost massively outpaces the actual cost of what they are doing. For example, to trade in a "top tier" set of vehicles for even two of another set would cost significantly more than what it would cost to simply have paid actual money to finish the set itself. They are charging multiple, multiple times more than what both the market rate and in-game description of the event itself.

These actions have clearly been designed to scam people out of their finances without giving enough detail in what that will entail and cost. They are intentionally overpricing things with the aim to overcharge players in order to make maximum profit on the least amount of work, only at the expense of the entire playerbase.

This Cyprus-based company has also been investigated and alleged to be supporting the war effort in favor of Russia in Ukraine. Directly after the war began they started releasing comparatively overpriced content that was objectively unfair for the game itself. They are in desperate need of international review.
