STOLE MY WATCH

I sent my Tori Burch watch to this company to have the battery replaced. My emails have gone unanswered and now, after reading the reviews, I realize this company is a scam. I'm going to get Amex involved to see if they can recoup some of my money back

This complaint is against an internet website company called www.watchgnome.com

American Express has their business listed at 2110 S. Logan, Denver Colorado

and their phone number as 650 526 8172

this fraudulent company purports to be a watch battery replacement service, specializing in every brand, especially expensive brands.. You pay a fee (34.00- which I paid thru AMEX on March 23rd 2021) they send you a padded post-paid box to return your watch to them and they promise to return it to you repaired in 3-8 days. I received a box from them on April 23, 2021(supposedly delayed by COVID) ,packed my classic 1994 Movado watch (worth $1200) sent to them the next day, and now May 27th 2021 have not received my watch . When you call the company , no calls are returned and the number listed goes straight to voicemail. Also, no one returns email inquiries made to the company's supposed customer service department of which I have made several.

When you go to GOOGLE or any other search engine they appears near or at the top. The website is very professional and appears to be legitimate, as does their FACEBOOK and TWITTER listings.

However, subsequent research on complaints and review sites list hundreds if not thousands of negative reviews with people reporting the same type of loss as I experienced. The better business bureau website (BBB) also says to steer clear of them.

The likelihood is that they are reselling the stolen watches on EBAY and other re-selling websites or jeweler websites online.

PLEASE don't fall for these bad actors. Apparently, many people have suffered losses and some even greater than mine

I needed the battery replaced in my Skagen watch and decided to look online for repair options. I came across www.watchgnome.com, who offered to receive, repair and return my watch for $24. I just had to pay and mail it in. Unfortunately, they never mailed it back. Damn cheaters. I was not able to immediately locate their information as I lost track of time but today found it -- I had mailed them my watch on or about 7/31/20 and never got it back. They do not list their phone number on their website and have not responded to my e-mails. I am going to talk with my credit card company to see if they have access to the phone number. I am going to dispute the $24 charge but that is small consolation when they have stolen my $250 watch.
