I received a text that appeared to be from AT&T apologizing for a recent outage on the phone line. Then received another text offering a free gift of a smart watch to compensate for any inconvenience. The “free” gift required to just pay shipping fees. In the terms and conditions it states after 14 days of accepting the agreement for the free gift you’ll be charged monthly $98.54 and they will send you a watch each month. So no free gift. Just a scam. I called the number and they told me they’ll cancel the agreement but could refund me only 40% of what they took from my account.
