- [x] WATCHUS 855775248 apparently a business ID number not a phone number, is a misleading predatory business targeting the elderly and those with poor eye sight that are unable to read the extremely fine print. They post a paper flyer in Kroger grocery advertisements for a watch. I think they put it in the Kroger grocery advertisements to give it credibility and it works. The picture on the advertisement shows a Swiss made watch that you will receive paying only the shipping and handling charge. However the watch you receive in the deal paying only the shipping and handling fee is not a Swiss watch. In fact it is I watch worth less than three dollars. This is merely a way for them to get your credit card information. Somewhere in the fine print they sign you up for magazine subscriptions, also hidden in the fine print are instructions for you to send the watch back if you are not satisfied within 14 days or they will charge you the full price on the watch. The first payment they took out was for magazine subscriptions so I called them and told them I did not want magazines and they canceled the magazine subscription or at least said they would. In that conversation they never explained the need to return the watch within 14 days even though I explained to them I did not want the watch or any magazine subscriptions. However on the following month they charged me $98.83 for the watch. I see on my Visa bill they call them selves a dating service they are run out of New York with an unknown address. This is a scam aimed at retirees and needs to be stopped. Just the fact that my Visa bill shows them to be a dating service and not a watch company is very suspicious. I am sure they are making money hand over fist from unsuspecting retirees. Please put an end to this misleading predatory practice or at least find a way to warn the public especially retirees of their criminal behavior.
