This man, Wayne Reece (see attached picture) came to our 55 and older Mobile Home Park, Paradise Shadows Mobile Home Park at 2701 E. Utopia Rd, Phoenix, 85050, on Monday, March 12 and he knocked on my door and asked about replacing some of my bent car-port support poles in my yard. I asked him if he could also build a porch to my back door under the carport and he said he could. He then did some measuring and he designed, on paper, a porch with a ramp on one side and steps off the other side. He then made a phone call to his "supplier" and he wrote out an estimate complete with prices. He kept saying that his Supplier had a 50% off discount on these materials that would be needed for my porch and also the support poles for the carport roof. The price for materials came to $700 and then his labor was another $300. He said he had to have cash to pay for the materials but that I could pay the labor after he was done building everything. Being disabled I am not able to build a porch nor could I replace the bent carport poles and since I am in constant pain and the fact that I have fallen several times on the wobbly porch that I do already have I agreed to pay cash for the materials. He was supposed to come back two days later, Wednesday, March 13, and build this for me but he never showed up. He called me on Thursday and said he didn't show up because his son was in a major car accident and he had been at the hospital since the accident. He then asked if I cold give him another $140 cash so he could pay his daughter the money he owed her. I told him absolutely not and he said he would be at my house that evening to drop off the materials and then he would be back Friday morning (today) to build the porch, ramp, and replace the bent carport poles. He did not show today and when I called his cell number there was an automated message saying that the number was not able to receive any calls. I texted him several times but no answer.

I have been scammed and totally taken advantage of! I am embarrassed to even tell anyone this because I was a very poor judge of character and did not practice very good money management. Nevertheless if my sending you his picture and telling you what happened could help someone else from getting "taken" by this deceiver then it is worth the disclosure.

The cell number he gave me to reach him is 602-579-0845. The name he gave me that he went by is Wayne Reece. I took this picture the day I gave him the money and hired him to build the porch and replace the 4 carport poles.

Wayne Reese represented himself as a contractor to repair floor on Arizona Room and put gutters and new stands to hold up carport. He took our money with the understanding that he would purchase materials and do the repairs...He never showed up...
