On Monday, June 12, 2023, I attempted to pay my WE ENERGIES bill over the phone because my online app was not accepting my debit card payment. While speaking with a man who identified himself as Jack, we went over my personal information and account information. Everything was correct. We discussed me making a payment in the amount of $200. Jack told me I would be getting confirmation of the payment to my phone or email within minutes and while on the call. I did not receive any confirmation so he sent me a text with a number to a direct line to reach him if I did not receive a confirmation message within a given time. After hanging up the call, I received a text from my bank if I attempted to make a payment to the company “Efinity Services”, I replied NO. A text followed stating the transaction was blocked and no funds were taken. 3 days later my bank statement read an amount of $221.75 was taken from my account from “Spi*Nv Energy”. When I attempted to contact the number I first called that was listed on google, I was eventually hung up on after demanding a refund. I then attempted to call the number Jack gave me to call him on directly. I was then hung up on and blocked. After several calls, “disconnection” of calls, & passed to different departments, I never received my refund and was told I needed to contact my bank because they did not take any of my funds. I lost $211.
