On December 18th I received a warning message which caused my my computer to lock up and a security alert appeared stating my computer was in danger and I needed to call 321-599-4510 immediately and not to attempt to turn off my computer. I called the number on the screen and the person identified them self as a representative of Microsoft. They took control of my computer and supposedly resolved the issue. I have no idea what they did because I could not understand the representative. They claimed to have downloaded "lifetime encryption firewall and support." They sent an invoice which said I was to pay Webyard LLC, P. O. Box 35234, St. Petersburg, FL 33705, the amount of $2,346.37. I began to suspect that something was not right and that this was a scam. I did not send them any money. They are now sending voicemails and emails stating that if I don't pay, they will turn the invoice over to a collection agency which could impact my credit score. These people need to be stopped because they are intimidating innocent people and using scare tactics to try and make people pay these outrageous sums of money.

I opened my lap top to get a recipe, the loudest noise (like a siren) & locked me out of my computer telling me to call . 7-4-2024

I called in a panic & spoke to a man with a foreign accent & he had to take control of my computer o fix it. I asked more than once if they were with Microsoft or the security company & was told "I assure you we are not the bad guys". was on the phone with them for an hour & told to leave my computer running. Mike sent mt to his security person (maybe Dave) That is when I was told it was going to be $1,400.00 & I started asking a lot of questions but he kept telling me it was legit. Mike called me back a couple of hours later to see how my computer was working. Then I received my email an invoice for $1,499.00. I called my son & he looked the up & sent me text message he read about them being scammers. I replied to the email & told them I could not pay & blocked the phone number on my cell phone

They wanted me to send a check overnight to Webyard LLC ADDRESS (also wanted my check number) Mike PHONE# Invoice came fro0m ADDRESS2 with same phone number.

So I am not sure what they are going to next or what more I should do.
