I applied and was interviewed and offered a remote position as data entry for Weeks Marine out of New Jersey. When they sent me an E-Check to purchase computer equipment, my bank, thank goodness, identified it as a fraudulent check. When I called Weeks Marine to talk to the woman I was conversing with on Signal and the gentleman in accounting that sent the check, I was told that those employees don’t exist, the job didn’t exist and I wasn’t an employee. The company was informed that morning in an email that they might be used in a scam. I had filled out a W4, an I9 and sent copies of my drivers license and social security card and filled out a direct deposit form to have my paycheck deposited. the company does exist but was used in the scam unbeknownst to them
