After receiving the letter from Wells Fargo, I called them as requested. They asked me for the Reference Number on the letter and I had 2 separate letters so I gave them both numbers. They responded by informing me that I had 2 separate refunds coming to me that would be mailed to me within 30-45 days. I had first called them on Mar 4, 2024 and called them back on Apr 16, 2024 to check the status of that refund as it was 44 days gone by. They informed me that there would be another delay. I was concerned so before I called them I went online and googled this letter to see if I could get any information, and it pops up everywhere that this exact letter that was sent to me was sent to thousands of people and that it was a scam and some of the people got their money but could not cash the checks, and other info said that all refunds have been paid out and I would have to write them a letter to claim my refund. When I was on the phone I asked the lady "do you know how much trouble you can be in for using this letter as a SCAM?" She immediately said she had to transfer my phone call to the remediation program Escalation Agent. When he did not come on the line she asked for my phone number and said he would call me back. I never got a call back. The money I was suppose to have refunded to me was apparently from unknowingly being enrolled in a Mortgage Accidental Death product from 2 different periods back in 2011 and the $614 was the amount of 2 separate refunds of $263.71 and $350.75 totaling $614.46. Am I going to receive this refund or lose it? Please respond.
